Our PVCu residential doors are designed with the British climate in mind and are manufactured in accordance with the latest advances in door technology. With slender sightlines, steel reinforcing, high security hinges and a full range of moulded panel designs our residential doors are suitable for any application.

All Super Fortress™ Residential door locks are approved by the ABI (Association of British Insurers) and benefit from multi point locks with hook bolts, roller cambs and a deadbolt. The deadbolt is secured against sawing by hardened steel pins. The locks tested to European Standard DIN 181003, DIN 18251, DIN 18357 and are recognised to conform to BS3621:1980

As an additional extra, increasing the security of your home, all doors can be fitted with an ‘anti-bump’ barrel, which prevents a would-be burglar from bumping the door locking mechanism. See our lock bumping guide for further information.

We use high security hinges on all our doors for increased safety and strength and all are manufactured to comply with the relevant security standards. Extra hinge protection bolts can be fitted to further increase security, but these need to be specified at the time of ordering.

A recent concern highlighted in the media is "lock bumping" - you can view our video section to see exactly why this has caused such an uproar. "Lock bumping" poses a very real menace to the security of your home, but Starglaze have the solution. We are able to fit an anti-bump barrel to your door which is designed to eliminate this threat. Available as an affordable upgrade to our standard specification, it can even be fitted retrospectively.

As well as the standard range of single opening doors we are also able to provide stable doors, where-by the two leafs can be interlocked and used as a single door, or as shown in the picture opposite the door can be operated independently. The stable door is growing in popularity as it has both security advantages as well as safety advantages forming a protective barrier to stop small children getting outside.
