In October 2008 the planning law changed regarding the permitted development rights that allow householders to pave their front garden for hard standing without obtaining planning permission. However, Starglaze driveways are designed in such a way as to avoid the need for planning permission for most front gardens - by ensuring they provide a solution for the water run-off and by being made from sustainable, permeable and non-permeable materials.
